Why Messaging needs managing. Discussion points for organisations that have considered, or are already deploying mobile messaging for smart devices.

The current economic climate and desire  to streamline process is forcing organisations to “do more” with the resource they have and frontline messaging becomes essential for maintaining competitive edge as well as keeping your workforce productive and close to your customer. Security

     Organisations need to consider what to do if the device is lost or stolen. Can they kill the device? Are they certain the device has been wiped? Can they enforce password policies on the device to give extra protection?

     Who sets the device up initially ? Does it have to go via IT support before dispatch to the user?  This is often a complex, time consuming task, especially when considering all of the variables on a smart device (Such as APN settings, Proxy settings, Home screen configuration)

Visibility

     Who's using the service? – or perhaps more importantly who is not using the service? How can you track the assets, data usage, user location?
